NEW ALBUM ‘THE COGNITIVE REVOLUTION’ - COMING 2025

“anyone who discovers this angry, gritty, yet glorious take on the state of the nation will be rewarded with the sound of a band riding a wind of change and making a statement so loud it is almost deafening.”

THE LANCASHIRE / YORKSHIRE TIMES

On 22 November, REGENT return with the spellbinding new single “Don’t Be Long”.

With shades of classic brit-pop heartbreakers like “Stop Crying Your Heart Out” or “The Drugs Don’t Work”, the track is an emotional, edge-of-your-seat guitar ballad to rival the best there is.

“Don’t Be Long” is an emotive tribute to a close friend of frontman Ben Rooke, with lyrics that urge them to search for silver linings during a particularly difficult time in their life.

“The song is about a close friend of mine who's been struggling with his health and was close to death this year…”

From its impassioned vocals to its soaring solos, “Don’t Be Long” is another confident step forward from the prolific Southampton rock sensations.

Swiftly following on from Summer single release “Stuck Like Glue”, the Southampton Brit-rock revolutionaries are already hatching plans for their third Album, titled 'The Cognitive Revolution’, which will feature both tracks. The album will be released in 2025.

Having released their highly esteemed second record ‘Beggars Belief’ earlier this year to warm reviews, the South coast outfit will be performing the record in its entirety, plus classics from their growing back catalogue, and potentially a few new surprises too at an upcoming hometown show at Southampton’s Joiners venue… Final tickets are on sale now here

Purveyors of an insurgent, no-nonsense brand of rock’n’roll, Regent, have forged a reputation as one of Southampton’s finest and fastest emerging acts.

Tackling widespread issues of political mistrust and economic struggles, to more introspective tracks homing-in on personal hardships to the joy to be found in relationships, Regent’s knack for relatable songs and hook-laden tunes has seen their popularity swell in recent years.

Riding high on a string of highly-charged single releases, the band delivered their acclaimed debut LP ‘Just A Revolution’ in 2022. Swiftly following it with recent EP ‘Believe’, the band supported the release with a number of high profile headline shows, festival slots, and supporting shows with notable acts like Reverend & The Makers.

On their journey to date, Regent have earned praise from the likes of Louder Than War, Earmilk and Gigslutz, and have gained radio play from Radio X, Frank Skinner on Absolute Radio, Amazing Radio and BBC Introducing as well as RTE2 in Ireland and SiriusXM in the US. The group’s gripping sound has also attracted attention across the world of TV and sport, with airplay on Soccer AM, Sky Sports Darts, the Premier League, BBC Six Nations Rugby, BT Sport  and BBC One’s Match of the Day.

Regent released their latest album, ‘Beggars Belief’, earlier this year. Railing against the state of the nation, ‘Beggars Belief is a record of politics and people, love and rage, stress and peace, chances and change. Featuring the singles “Flying High”, “Liberation”, “Oh No, I Know” and title-track, “Beggars Belief” finds Regent ready to defy expectations. Taking the revolutionary spirit of their debut to the masses, Regent’s latest sees them sailing with the winds of change and making the statement of their career to date. ‘Beggars Belief’, the new album by Regent, is out now.

Standby for further news on their third album ‘The Cognitive Revolution’ soon (due for release 2025).

Regent are: Ben Rooke (vocals)  // Chris Woolf (lead guitar) // Ed Cesar (rhythm guitar) // Luke Trundell (bass) // Chris Blackman (drums)
